Leaning forward

Forward in life means different things to different people, gives different stance to different folks. For some, its promotion at work, for some its a new house, for some, a new car, for some, a new business idea and for some a new opportunity, a new spouse or a new gift!

An intense view of these pictures will show different views. Imagine if the instruction to all folks in this layout was #Leanforward and check the aftermath of all postures.

Think about this little blonde's idea of forward being flexing forward facing downwards, hands locked up and catching fun! 

The lady in red's idea is definitely a freestyling pose for a shoot, yet leaning forward in an unusual way. 

The middle aged man's idea of forward is a serious business-like posture similar to negotiating stance or attempting gaining grounds in an interview.

While the lady with the gorgeous smile is probably welcoming her forward with the warmth of a smile. 

In life there is no award for who went forward first or who did what first and so no competition in the concept of forward or how far gone forward it is. Every man's forward is his posture and his progress. Forward for one might be a promotion, to another it might be new house, new spouse, new ideas, new oppprtunities,  new car, new home and the list goes on. . .

The goal is to catch a breath, think forward, act forward, say forward, lean forward and just keep staying forward.

The Pixel Lesson

After a very busy day at work, one sunny afternoon, we decided to celebrate a colleague's birthday trying to catch our fun as a team despite the work schedule. We had shared chops, drinks and we went ahead to add the last complement of a typical birthday which is posing for the pictures to show the 'I was there' stunts. We started with the celebrant device which gave us a fairly good outlook with different postures and dramas, we snapped with yet another device and yet another since our mobile device has replaced many aspects and devices of the past like a camera. Just from the blues,  the big boss just flashed out 'His gadget' as it will be disrespect to call that 'techy' device a phone, click.  . . click.  .  .  we all heard still with our ongoing drama, poses and voila! No doubt, we all saw the phone as superior and a very "correct phone", the click of the camera sounded same, with same #Selfie modes to snap the pictures. .  .  But the end product, seemed too good to be real -   Crisp, felt like it was embedded on the screen! And for a split second, i wasnt sure what I looked like again if that was me in the shot or someone else as I looked like a celebrity. My brain took up the adjective mode, I felt beautiful, my self and colleagues, we all definitely felt that beauty oozing from the activity of a superior camera or phone?! Not sure any longer cos crisp looking pictures they were!

My typical mind went in active and thoughtful mode since that time on the concept of photography and how different devices can create so different an outlook and quality; the perception of beauty and the feel of it left all of us with: the feeling called superb!!

As a matter of fact, the folks in the photo shoot  on the different devices remained the same in appearance, the clothes, the colour, the mood and the aura for the pose; nothing changed but in real sense and real terms, something changed that eventually altered the final outlook and appearance and that's the aperture and pixel rating of the lenses on the camera which changed the mutual interaction of light and the images.

How does this apply to our daily living before you think this is about photography: Every human event, interaction and circumstances are like photoshoot. We live, act and express our expectations of life, our circumstances and other people based on perspectives: what we see, how we see and the medium through which we are seeing. The final outcome is a function of multiple interactions of 'intensity of light' and the quality of our lenses. Perspective is the inner lens with which we view life and shoot to the field of life, the quality of the lens determine the quality of our outlook and the final outcome on many fronts. While you need one to survive, endeavour to give room for other people's perspective. For the many photoshoots life have offered you, you had better dorn a sharp lens on your inner camera and see yourself as a gorgeous masterpiece in the hand of your maker. You might not have taken full round shape, check out and be grateful for the octagon you are forming. Remember as a man thinketh, so is he!

The Tripod of Love, Work and Future

Welcome to the month of April. It's not just a new month, but also the beginning of a new quarter and a new phase. It's another opportunity on time space to do all that we love and want to do and all that we need to do. As scary as it can be that the year 2017 is one quarter gone, it's albeit assuring and comforting to know that the year still has three quarters to go and ample opportunities to still make the ongoing year a success and most desirable. So, we can say the cup of the year is three-quarter full!

These three points of finding love, work and hope for tomorrow ~ LOVE~ WORK ~FUTURE. These three points are like tripod on which our desire for fulfillment and happiness rests. At every stage of our lives, to sustain sanity at least two or more of these tripod stand (Love, Work & Future) on which fulfillment and happiness are eventually linked together.

To stay happy and fulfilled with these three points, I wish you enough of every good and blessed things. I wish you:~

Before your next airtime recharge, Pause!

Recently I got a social media broadcast that seem to have given me so much to chew and churn. Taking me on a guilt trip around what I believe, what I value and the kind of vibe I like to flow around me. I like the entrepreneurial and intrapreneural energy ⚡ and I've always imagined a world filled with such energy eventhough I know everybody cannot be! I love the idea of been able to tweak with resources at the multiplication level. And so, this post got me! It ended up putting me in a guilt corner but I'm snapping out fast!. Here's the post-

"Please, to remind you!!

Stop buying airtime from banks,

Buy from hawkers( those who sell on the road or around your home areas) because our brothers are now becoming jobless.

Buy from people not machine please!

So that they will earn a living! Save our people from loosing their small businesses"

This is so sad but true! I'm also guilty of this😞. I've found myself taking the quickie step and opting for the shortest route with airtime recharge and I consistently did that not thinking of the impact for one day! To the point that I really don't remember the codes for the manual recharge with recharge cards. Similar to exchange of robots and technology with our manual effort in the workplace. The day they build an application or software that can do my tasks readily, then my job becomes threatened and job loss might be imminent. 

As much as we can, let's s build up others in every way we can at all the times we can. Let's build roadside businesses, let's help ventures to be viable especially in times like this. More often than not, so many lives are linked to these means of livelihood.

The thought never occurred to me until I saw the broadcast and I realize how my actions, inactions, disposition, habit, what I call convenience and comfort affect others in significant ways. I've since had to juggle my balls to impact on the point where it matters most and definitely, there's a price to pay for this decision that outrightly excludes comfort but over and over and over, it's a worthwhile step to take.

Living tomorrow today!

As the year swiftly unfolds, the assignment is to live tomorrow today. The real hurdle on this pathway to success is balancing the drive, eagerness and will with patience as the most needed art. As the drive to move up, about and ahead gears up with eagerness, there is build up on excitement and the will to consistently do all that's needed for success along with patience. One word comes to mind readily – Deliberate. This is the mantra to identify and activate all the dreams, tasks, projects and visions all charted for the days, weeks and months ahead. 

Live tomorrow today deliberately!! And here goes the flow of poetry.  .  .  

I woke up this morning grouchily

Inching on to my routine rather slowly

There seems to be so much to look at

And so much more to work and drive at

So much to think and plan through

So many days seem to have seeped through

Couple of weeks already gone past

With sure more to come and pass

Thinking of leaving behind today

As I begin to live tomorrow today

Marching so unstoppable and freely

No particular direction and fiercely

Save for the direction and sail I set

And for the zest and energy I get

For the year of my dreams, I need signs

For the hopes unending I heave a sigh

I want to see indicators of the future fast

Leaving behind the fears of the past

Working at leaving behind today

As I begin to live tomorrow today

Moving out of solitude of uncertainty

Embracing the attitude of certainty

Bringing on the imagery of my spirituality

Matching it till it superimposes my reality

I choose to be demanding and firm on self

And I choose to be patient with self

In the mind of my eye and the eye of my mind

I see lofty heights, so high, so real in my mind

I choose to leave behind today

And I begin to live tomorrow today
